Comfortable Weekend Makeup

On the weekend or when I have a day off, I like to tone down my makeup. Instead of a medium coverage foundation, I'll go with a sheer foundation or tinted moisturizer. I really like Estee Lauder's new Beauty Benefit (BB) Cream. The great thing about BB cream is that it is 50% moisturizer and 50% foundation, so you can moisturize and add coverage in one step. Note that if you have dry skin, you will probably still want to put on some moisturizer underneath BB cream.

Comfy Weekend Makeup
In this photo, I'm wearing Estee Lauder's Idealist Even Skintone Illuminater underneath my BB cream to even out my skin tone. I usually have a bit of blotchiness, and this serum helps brighten my skin. After I applied my BB cream, I brushed on a little rosy blush, light pink eyeshadow, and a little black mascara. I completed my natural look with Clinique's new Almost Lipstick in Flirty Honey which looks dark pink in the tube but applies beautifully sheer. The Almost Lipstick comes in several colors and it feels like a moisturizing stick with just a bit of color. Love it!
And that is my comfortable weekend look.

Chanel, Oh Chanel!

I had today off from work and had been doing my college homework for about 4 hours straight. My brain needed a serious break... so I went to the mall. I work at a Macy's that is not part of a mall, and I wanted to go to Lush too pick up a lip scrub.. (more on that in another post)... and a beautiful Chanel Beauty Adviser caught me in her delicious designer makeup web. I told her that I was a beauty adviser for Estee Lauder, but that I would love to try some Chanel products. She gave me the full Chanel makeover... and I LOVED it! She had a lovely soft touch and told me all kinds of things about the products she was using, which was smart, because as a beauty adviser I want to know everything about what you're putting on my face.
She gave me some wonderful advice on playing up my eyes... I think she did a good job. :)

My Chanel Makeover
The Beauty Adviser, (I remember her name because we exchanged info, but for her privacy, I will just refer to her as the Beauty Adviser), used smokey purples to make my green eyes pop. I actually have used more vibrant purple shades to make brown eyes pop for my own clients, so I loved how she applied that color specifically for my features. Although my camera did not capture the depth of color used on my face; in person, I feel like my eyes and skin are glowing.

I was so happy with some of the Chanel products that I probably would have bought more than I did had I not been trying to spend a bit less. I did get the purple mascara and blonde eyebrow pencil, both of which are different from the Estee Lauder versions so I don't feel too guilty about getting them (I kinda feel like I'm cheating on Estee Lauder - LOL). They will be wonderful products for me to play with when I'm not at work. :)
